Firestone

Firestone Industrial Products Company begon in 1936. Ze begon luchtbalgen te ontwerpen en twee jaar later kwam het eerste product op de markt. Firestone is door de jaren heen leidend geweest op het gebied van innovatie. Daarnaast hebben ze hun productaanbod flink uitgebreid. Vandaag de dag produceert Firestone op vier continenten en hebben ze luchtbalgen voor auto’s, vrachtwagens, bussen, trailers, treinen en industriële toepassingen.

Air bellows

In 1938, Firestone received the patents on air springs, also called 'air suspenders'. Using air, they ensure that the pressure is distributed, impacts are absorbed and vibrations are reduced. Compared to a traditional spring, air bellows have a longer lifespan, protect material better by better absorbing vibrations and distributing pressure.
